The News:
Expanding on their current relationship with UnitedHealthcare Hub, WeightWatchers for Business has now been chosen as a selected vendor for UnitedHealthcare’s Total Weight Support (TWS) program. This recognition highlights our leadership in addressing key employer concerns through our comprehensive, evidence-based approach to weight management, which includes GLP-1 strategies.
What This Means for UHC Employers:
WeightWatchers is now accessible via two key employer-facing UnitedHealthcare platforms: as one of only two vendors in the TWS program and in the UnitedHealthcare Hub:
UHC TWS: UnitedHealthcare’s new TWS program enables self-funded employers offering GLP-1 medication coverage to integrate WeightWatchers’ clinically-proven behavioral program as part of a prior authorization pathway with a seamless member experience.
UHC HUB: WeightWatchers is also accessible through UnitedHealthcare Hub, a curated network of more than 20 health and well-being programs. The Hub is designed to streamline the process for employers and employees looking to identify, evaluate, and purchase solutions that fit their unique health needs.
Who Benefits:
UnitedHealthcare’s TWS program enables self-funded employers offering GLP-1 medication coverage to integrate WeightWatchers’ clinically proven behavioral program as part of a prior authorization pathway, to help maximize outcomes, improve adherence and reduce costs.
Rhonda Randall, DO, Chief Medical Officer for UnitedHealthcare’s commercial business, stated in Becker’s Payer Issues: “In our conversations and consultations with employers, they are all looking for solutions for their employees who are dealing with obesity and metabolic conditions that bring better value. Total Weight Support was put into the marketplace as a comprehensive solution for employers who are looking for that full-person approach to care for their beneficiaries and employees dealing with obesity.”
